We are women of all ages and backgrounds who share a common goal:  contributing to the betterment of the community through financial support of non-profit organizations, volunteerism, and providing monetary assistance to individuals and families in need.

For us, "community" is the Highland Lakes area of Central Texas.  Our donations, fund-raising and volunteerism center on helping not-for-profits in Burnet and Llano Counties.  Our members are primarily from those counties, living in the cities and towns of Marble Falls, Meadowlakes, Horseshoe Bay, Kingsland, Granite Shoals, Burnet, and other areas in this beautiful part of the Texas Hill Country.

We have about 120 members, some of whom have been members since the organization's inception more than 30 years ago.  The club was originally affiliated with the national Soroptomist Club.  Later, after the national affiliation was dropped, the club became known as the F.A.J.I.T.A.S. -- Fellowship and Joy in Total Area Service -- and also because the main fund-raiser was cooking and selling fajitas at a local celebration called Howdy Roo.

But whatever the name, the purpose has remained the same:  A group of dedicated women interested in helping the community.
